Part of this story you might already know. The world as we know it has been torn apart by war, and one of the nations to reemerge from the ashes is Panem.The oppressive Capitol rose to power, and defeated the rebellious District residents, decimating one district, Thirteen, completely. For a hundred years, The Hunger Games have served as a celebration of a peace treaty, and an ever-present punishment.
As if twenty-three children killed in an annual televised tournament wasn't enough, every twenty-five years they have the Quell, the Hunger Games with a twist. This year, they go too far. This year, they'll learn that all along they were accidentally engineering the next coming of The Dark Days: a group more or less united, and absolutely skilled in combat and survival. The Victors.
